Well it’s now been a week since the passing of Michael Jackson and the world still is in shock and mourns his death. While I was a fan of the entertainer, and I did like his music that was not what I admired most about him. When you look at his performances, you see some amazing dance moves, and some incredible talent. How does what happened to Michael Jackson tie into a post on an network marketing blog? Well you ask a simple question when anything bad occurs.
What are you to take from this?
Simple, while the man had talent, he practiced and perfected his craft to be the best he could possibly be. The point I am trying to make is this, raw talent was not enough. He practiced those moves constantly, day in day out. The man probably dreamed about the dance moves in his sleep. You can just tell by how good he was he lived by the cliche “Practice Makes Permanent”
In today’s world of instant gratification, and wanting to be a millionaire by next week let’s really put into perspective what it takes. How many people do you know want to be wealthy and are willing to put in the effort to be wealthy?
How many work at home entrepreneurs do you know are doing what it takes to build a successful thriving business?

It take Desire, Drive and Determination to achieve ones goals. Whether you are the King Of Pop or just your average Network Marketer, Home Based Business Owner you must overcome the obstacles and roadblocks you encounter.
You must enhance your knowledge, experience and personal development on a daily basis. You must practice speaking to people so you can qualify, invite and close your prospect. You must learn the skills of effective presenting, persuasion and communication.
These skills and qualities are mastered over time. The time or the learning curve depends on you and the amount of time and effort you put into it. No one is going to hand you success, you have to fight for it and make it happen.
Think about this for a moment, after Michael Jackson’s breakthrough album “Thriller” and his subsequent tours and albums he was bestowed a title. That title was “The King Of Pop” Not a title that is thrown around or given to just anyone. Think about what he did and sacrificed to attain the title. Just like champions in sport, leaders of industry…Desire, Drive and Determination are all the common denominator.
As for Michael, well hopefully he is jammin away with some of the other greats and legends that have left us far too soon.

Traditional network marketing or mlm can be a very lucrative and rewarding business. The key to achieving this success is attaining and mastering effective communication skills. Realistically, anyone can achieve these skills, unfortunately the majority of people don’t want to or have no desire to take the time to practice effective communication to make it work.
Now as time and technology move forward and the advent of the internet in the late nineties a whole new world of network marketing or mlm success was and is being achieved. Not only are there success stories in the traditional network marketing MLM arena, now we are finding mega success stories of individuals having internet mlm success.
There are two schools of thoughts within the home based business industry. There is what we can call the old school method, speak to friends and family; buy leads, cold calling etc. Then there is the new school which is the ability to grow a thriving organization and have Internet MLM Success.
Which is the proper way? Is there a proper way? Today’s post explores the potential growth and prosperity one can have with Internet MLM Success.
When you look at the old school system of MLM, Network Marketing or Direct Sales, (and I presume any home based business you’re in) there is one thing that really stands out. The failure rate is a whopping 95% and of the successful 5%, only 3% achieve the level of income that delivers the lifestyle of the “rich and famous” (insert Robin Leach voice over here.)
However is the story somewhat different for people conducting their mlm business through the internet? I mean there are some proven internet mlm success stories. While I do not know what the industry ratings or averages are for individuals who are conducting their business strictly through the internet, I can only presume the success ratio is not dramatically different.
Okay with that being said let’s look at what it means to gain Internet MLM Success.
What internet mlm success is not is just throwing up a company replicated website and driving traffic to it. These companies say they operate on the internet, because they have a company replicated site, however this is not going to bring you the kind of the success we are discussing.
Internet MLM Success means exactly what it says, building and developing a growing, thriving organization that is easily duplicable. The easier it is to duplicate, the greater the buy in from the people you sponsor. Why? Because once your recruits get over the technical hurdles, they can easily duplicate what you are doing. They can now duplicate you the form of blogs, article marketing, forum marketing, internet newsletters, ezine advertising.
The type of internet mlm success stories I speak of are in the form of such pioneers as Mike Dillard, Daegan Smith and Jonathan Budd. They have taken the basics of marketing, and applied it to the business model of Network Marketing. They then took it to the next level, utilizing the broad reach of the internet to tap into worldwide markets.
The form of internet mlm success they achieved came in the form of providing valuable information, tips and strategies on how to grow your home based business. They did not pitch or sell their opportunity directly to you. They give you value and content that you, as a home based business entrepreneur, can actually implement in your business immediately today.
When you compare the two methods there is one real striking similarity between them. The success common denominator if you will, was they provided information on how to improve someone’s lot in life. How to achieve a level of independence, be it financial, time, intellectual or health through methods they successfully used. No where in the material they sold, gave away or used did they constantly pitch their business opportunity.
What they did do was provide extreme value, the same as some of the great traditional network marketers.

Okay, if buying generic leads isn’t the answer then what is?
Well you could recruit from the retailing side of your
business. There are numerous successful network marketers who are among the converted.
Meaning they are strong believers in their product, they one day decide to start recommending the product or service to friends and family.
The challenge here lies in the fact of the percentage of product users turning into distributors is relatively low. Also, when the product user, now I want to be distributor, makes the switch, it takes some time for them to build a successful business, if ever.
I mean it can be done, however you will require time and patience while they build a downline producing a significant sizable residual income.
So what are we left with?
Well we’re left with the one and only true component in business
Marketing.
What are you looking for?
Perhaps someone like yourself, who for whatever reason
decided to join the home based business industry.
Essentially what I am saying is the best and most efficient way to grow your business is to work with people who are already comfortable with the network marketing business model
The benefit here is when they decide to work with you, they can hit the ground running. They can potentially make a significant impact in the marketplace not only for themselves, but for you also…their sponsor.
When you find people who are just as motivated to grow a business as you are, the power of true leverage is now being applied.

Today is an awesome day.
Why?
Well let's put it this way. After years of struggling
in the Network Marketing game I discovered some tremendous
resources, then some absolutely fantastic mentors.
The beauty is I also taught myself some things along the way.
Some of which when I mention them to you may seem like, yeah
so what.
The point is today I am sending you to the new BLOG I have created for us.
Why is this important.
Because I am reaching my mid forties this year.
My generation did not learn all this technical stuff in school.
Unlike todays youth who can whip up a blog or webpage with ease…
my learning curve was a little longer.
You see I searched out and taught myself alot of technical
stuff. Why?
Because I have a goal...and part of the goal was to learn this
stuff and I have become resolute that nothing and I mean
nothing is going to stop me from achieving my overall goals in
life.
My message to you today is this...DON'T STOP!
There were a lot of hills and valleys as I discovered these
new skills...some days more valleys then anything. Yes I did
want to stop and sometimes I walked away from what I was doing
for days at a time.
But...I kept coming back and knocking off something else on my
to do list until finally we have a BLOG.
All I'm trying to say in this long winded approach is this:
JUST KEEP MOVING FORWARD!
Everyone and I mean everyone stumbles, falls, screams and
shouts in frustration. Superstar athlete at the top of their game
the successful business entrepreneur...who at one time wasn't.

Perhaps you can relate to this little analogy I am about to
give you. Early in my home business career I purchased
leads from a lead generation company.
Excitedly, I would pick up the phone to call them, knowing
they would join my business eagerly.
Only to find out that none of these leads, bought from a lead
generation company, had zero intention of running a network
marketing business. You end up hanging up the phone with big
time disappoint and discouragement.
Let me tell you…Disappointment and Discouragement sucks big
time.

Imagine discovering how to transform yourself into being
hunted instead of being the hunter.
Yes! People can and will hunt you down with credit card in
hand if you do just a few things right. Here’s Where You Start!

This is a common mistake most home business owners/network
marketers commit. You end up spending your hard earned cash
buying leads that are supposedly interested prospects in what
you are offering.
The end result is after spending countless hours, weeks and
months of your time only to find out they are not interested
in you or your business.
The insane part of this scenario is what you begin to think.
Your first thought is “What am I doing wrong?”
You look at what you are doing, and think “Yeah doing
exactly what my sponsor said to do”
You review the script and practice it over and over again
until it is part of your being. You practice by role playing
with your sponsor or spouse calling leads for practice.
You have your sponsor listen in to a call to make sure
you’re doing it right…he assures you that you are
performing extremely well.
Patience you think to yourself, it will happen for me. Off
you go and purchase another batch of “super hot leads” from
the lead company and you amaze yourself with the results.
You’re amazed because you know you are giving everything you
got and the results are the SAME!
“Something is just not right here.” You tell yourself…and
then you come to this startling conclusion.
You’re right!
Here is what you just discovered.
The leads you are spending your hard earned money on are not
responding to your message or your script…because these
leads are generic
They don’t care about network marketing or starting a home
based business. To them, it was an ad they answered for “free
and easy money.” They seldom have the intention of getting
down to business and actually working for it.
Here is the tell tale sign of the generic lead you purchase.
The minute you bring up network marketing to them their
response is one of two:
1.“Is that one of them there pyramid schemes?”
2.“Oh I didn’t know this was network marketing, I really
don’t want to get involved in that”
Regardless of your answer, you’ve already lost. They have
either had a friend or family member who tried network
marketing and failed, so they want nothing to do with it. Or
they already have a negative preconceived notion based on
misinformation they read, saw or heard.
You’re now in a situation of attempting to convince someone of
the merits and benefits of the network marketing business
model. The moment you are in this position, you’re just
banging your head against a brick wall.
Hang up in disappointment.
Well buck up my friend, because you need to realize this…
You should not be spending any of your time and effort doing
this.
Why?
Because there is a better way, a more efficient way and more
importantly:
A more profitable way.

When I first discovered Network Marketing (MLM) and Direct Sales it was such and exciting time.
I thought the most impressive thing with my MLM business was it came with a website. This was great I thought, I could just send people to it and they would sign up to my business or buy product. And what about all the traffic I was going to get from the search engines like Google and Yahoo, I was going to get flooded with leads.
Then came reality check time.
You see I though because I had this company replicated website, people could find me through the search engines. After they found my mlm company replicated website they could then buy my product or sign up under me into my business.
Well I soon discovered several challenges with this theory.
The first challenge with a company provided replicated web site is it’s the same as every other member’s website in your company. Search engines regard this as duplicate content, which they do not like, and thus rank you lower in their listings.
Therefore any intention of your mlm company provided replicated site being on page 1 of the search engines is not going to occur.
The second challenge is it only markets the company and its features, not you. Face it, network marketing is about developing relationships and helping others achieve their goal. Your MLM company replicated site is not going to do this for you.
The third challenge is the intense competition on the internet. Fellow associates in your business opportunity, competitors from other opportunities also have their company replicated sites and they are trying to promote their business as well.
So how do you overcome these challenges. I thought you’d never ask.
First get your own domain name and build your own site. There are numerous companies that provide low cost solutions to getting a domain name, web hosting and site building programs. As you add unique content to your site it will increase the odds of you ranking higher on the search engines.
Secondly, you can now show others that arrive at your site what your offering is. How you can assist them in achieving the goal they have. You become a leader and a teacher to your potential customer or recruit. You are now building the relationship with this potential business partner.
After you develop your relationship you can then send your prospect to your company replicated site. Now they know you and are okay with you sending them there. Here they can purchase any products or services you offer or view your opportunity and join your team.
