Network Marketing: Part Time or Full Time in Network Marketing?
Filed Under Network Marketing 101 | Leave a Comment
This is the question that always seems to come up when someone in the business is speaking to a potential new recruit. “Can I do this network marketing business part time?”
Logical question seeing as the majority of people you speak to already have full time jobs, families etc. Getting into a network marketing opportunity is something they look at to potentially earn some extra income or to exceed and replace their current income.
So, lets examine this question…”Can you do this network marketing opportunity part time?”
The answer is yes and no.
You see, you can work part time in your business, but what you CAN’T do is treat your business as a part time thing.
Remember one very important thing, when you get into a network marketing opportunity you are going into business. You are now entering the world of becoming an entrepreneur.
In a job, you put in your 40 hours per week, production is based on what is expected from you in the job you have. At the end of every two weeks you receive a paycheck.
Being a business owner / operator you are paid based on your production. Put in all the time you want, if you do not produce anything you do not get to pay yourself.
Regardless of industry, entrepreneurs / business owners only get paid based on their production.
The majority of newcomers to the network marketing industry treat it like they do their jobs. The expectation is to put in some time and get paid.
Doesn’t work that way, not in network marketing, mlm, affiliate marketing or any business you start.
Starting or operating your own business is not a job, it becomes a way of life. Business owners are always looking for ways to increase, grow and become more profitable. This is no different with the top producers in the network marketing industry. (Really, ask yourself “How did they become Top Producers?”)
A majority of people treat their network marketing business as a hobby. Unfortunately some companies presentations within the industry perpetuate this kind of thinking.
Time is only one component of your business. You can work your business part time, as long as what you focus on in that time produces maximum results.
Perhaps you have two hours per day to work on your business. You can break it down into two one hour blocks. Hour one is lead generation, hour two is lead follow up.
Perform the necessary tasks in hour one that have to do with lead generation. Posting on line ads, submit articles to article directories, create an ad for off line lead generation (you get the picture)
Hour two consists of following up with the leads you generated.
Here is a tip to assist you in becoming successful in your network marketing business.
Avoid distraction!!!
Turn off your cell phone, email and let your family know to not disturb you. Concentrate and focus on the task at hand, and you will amaze yourself at what you accomplish in achieving success in your network marketing business.
